Reddit Biology Major
I thought i was doing everything right. A biology degree can be good for pursuing graduate studies but most people don’t give a shit that you can name the parts of a bug. Webredditors who have a degree in biology, what is your career now? For example, i could take molecular evolution (fun) or general microbiology (difficult). Or if you’re having trouble starting a career, you can get a masters degree in a more specific area.
I got a bs in biology and an almost perfect gpa. If you are unsure and want a biology degree, go for it. I can choose either fun, mostly useless classes or more rigorous slightly less fun but probably beneficial classes. Weba basic science bs (which is typically the study of nature and animals, insects and such) does not give enough education on things that are important to other sciences. I know mds, dvms, phds, mss, as well as leaders in biotech who all had biology undergrad degrees. You might be able to enter a field with just a bio degree like i did. Weba bio degree can be the basis for a lot of career choices.
